The GOTHAM JAZZ FESTIVAL is an annual all-day music festival featuring over a dozen of New York City's best hot jazz, swing, & blues bands (nearly 100 musicians!) at the stunning & exclusive private club from the Gilded Age, The Players Club.
The Festival was founded in 2017 by Prohibition Productions, and produced its first Festival at the Players Club on April 23, 2017 with over 100 musicians and a dozen bands. In 2018 Prohibition Productions partnered with New York Hot Jazz Camp (directed by Bria Skonberg & Molly Ryan) to feature performances by their incredible faculty, students, & alumni during the first half of the festival.
Alumni of the 2017 Festival include: Dan Levinson’s Roof Garden Jass Band w. Queen Esther, Gordon Webster Band, King Solomon Hicks, Baby Soda Jazz Band, Jason Prover & Sneak Thievery Orchestra, Adrien Chevalier Gypsy Jazz Band, Glenn Crytzer All Stars, The Grand St. Stompers, Avalon Jazz Band w. Tatiana Eva-Marie, Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers, Mike Davis & The New Wonders, Olli Soikkeli Trio, and Professor Cunningham & his Old School. Plus special guests: Terry Waldo, Dandy Wellington, Dalton Ridenhour, Arthur Migliazza, Jon Weber, DeWitt Fleming Jr, and Svetlana Shmulyian.
